What This Video Covers
- Creating a fire blast / tornado-style effect using EmberGen
- Downloading the project file from Patreon
- Importing a character or any 3D object into EmberGen via Right-Click → Import → Choose Path.
- Cleaning the default EmberGen nodes by deleting unused nodes
- Setting up the simulation bounding box (200 × 200 × 128)
- Adjusting the lighting setup by disabling the Skybox
- Creating a custom ground gradient through Ground Material → Uniform Color
- Setting ground radius and appearance for a clean scene setup
Emitter Setup (3 Emitters Total)
1. Base Emitter (Drag Emitter — Fire Source)
- Add a Drag Emitter → Emitter Volume
- Set emitter shape to Cylinder with height = 2
- Optional: enable the visual emitter to see the shape
- Add a Force Line
- Push Strength = 0
- Twister Strength ≈ 30
- Play a simulation to check the spinning fire.
- Fine-tuning twister values
2. Absorb Emitter (Removes Fire)
- Add another Drag Emitter and connect it with the character
- Add keyframes to activate → then deactivate absorption.
- Disable:
- Fire
- Smoke
- Temperature
- Enable only Pressure
- Random Intensity = 0
- Additional Pressure = -1000
- Adds the effect of the fire getting pulled/absorbed into the character
- Add keyframes to control when absorption begins and ends.
3. Blast Emitter (Final Explosion)
- Add a third Emitter Volume (Blast)
- Shape: Cylinder with default values
- Add another Force Line
- Push Strength = 0
- Twister = 30
- Repel Strength = 1000
- Additional Pressure = 100
- Add activation keyframes for timing the blast.
- Fine-tune height, emission, and burst values
- Emission ≈ 500
- Burst ≈ 3.9
Final Adjustments
- Review simulation timing across all three emitters
- Adjust height, force lines, and values for the desired result
- Final effect features: fire swirl → absorption → explosive blast
