CapCut Beginner Course – Class 2
Importing, Arranging, Splitting & Duplicating Videos (Step-by-Step Guide)
Step 1: Open CapCut and Create a New Project
- Open the CapCut app.
- Tap on Create or New Project.
- Your gallery will open automatically.
Step 2: Select Your Videos and Images
- Tap on a video to preview it.
- Tap the small circle to select it.
- Select multiple clips if needed.
- If you select the wrong clip, tap the minus (-) icon to remove it.
- After selecting all clips, tap Add.
All selected videos will now appear on the timeline.
Step 3: Preview Your Project
- Tap the Play button.
- All selected clips will play in sequence on the timeline.
Step 4: Remove the Default Watermark
- Scroll to the end of the timeline.
- Tap on the watermark clip.
- Select Delete from the tools panel.
Your project will now look clean and professional.
Step 5: Arrange Clips in the Correct Sequence
- Tap and hold a clip on the timeline.
- Drag it left or right to change its position.
- Release it in the desired location.
- If you make a mistake, tap the Undo button to restore the previous arrangement.
Step 6: Trim the Beginning of a Clip
- Play the video and pause where you want the clip to start.
- Tap on the clip.
- Use the Split option.
- Select the unwanted portion.
- Tap Delete to remove it.
Your clip will now start from the selected point.
Step 7: Trim the End of a Clip
- Move the timeline marker to where you want the clip to end.
- Tap the clip.
- Use Split again.
- Select the extra portion at the end.
- Tap Delete.
The clip will now end at the correct position.
Step 8: Quick Trim Method (Drag Method)
- Tap on the clip in the timeline.
- Drag the left edge inward to trim the beginning.
- Drag the right edge inward to trim the ending.
- Release to apply changes.
Step 9: Duplicate a Clip
- Tap on the clip you want to duplicate.
- Select the Duplicate option from the tools panel.
- A copy of the clip will appear next to the original.
- If you do not need it, tap Undo or select the duplicate and tap Delete.
Final Result
After completing these steps:
- Your videos are properly imported.
- Clips are arranged in sequence.
- The watermark is removed.
- Unwanted parts are trimmed.
- Duplicate clips are added if needed.
Your basic video edit is now ready.
