CapCut Beginner Course – Class 2

Importing, Arranging, Splitting & Duplicating Videos (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step 1: Open CapCut and Create a New Project

  1. Open the CapCut app.
  2. Tap on Create or New Project.
  3. Your gallery will open automatically.

Step 2: Select Your Videos and Images

  1. Tap on a video to preview it.
  2. Tap the small circle to select it.
  3. Select multiple clips if needed.
  4. If you select the wrong clip, tap the minus (-) icon to remove it.
  5. After selecting all clips, tap Add.

All selected videos will now appear on the timeline.

Step 3: Preview Your Project

  1. Tap the Play button.
  2. All selected clips will play in sequence on the timeline.

Step 4: Remove the Default Watermark

  1. Scroll to the end of the timeline.
  2. Tap on the watermark clip.
  3. Select Delete from the tools panel.

Your project will now look clean and professional.

Step 5: Arrange Clips in the Correct Sequence

  1. Tap and hold a clip on the timeline.
  2. Drag it left or right to change its position.
  3. Release it in the desired location.
  4. If you make a mistake, tap the Undo button to restore the previous arrangement.

Step 6: Trim the Beginning of a Clip

  1. Play the video and pause where you want the clip to start.
  2. Tap on the clip.
  3. Use the Split option.
  4. Select the unwanted portion.
  5. Tap Delete to remove it.

Your clip will now start from the selected point.

Step 7: Trim the End of a Clip

  1. Move the timeline marker to where you want the clip to end.
  2. Tap the clip.
  3. Use Split again.
  4. Select the extra portion at the end.
  5. Tap Delete.

The clip will now end at the correct position.

Step 8: Quick Trim Method (Drag Method)

  1. Tap on the clip in the timeline.
  2. Drag the left edge inward to trim the beginning.
  3. Drag the right edge inward to trim the ending.
  4. Release to apply changes.

Step 9: Duplicate a Clip

  1. Tap on the clip you want to duplicate.
  2. Select the Duplicate option from the tools panel.
  3. A copy of the clip will appear next to the original.
  4. If you do not need it, tap Undo or select the duplicate and tap Delete.

Final Result

After completing these steps:

  • Your videos are properly imported.
  • Clips are arranged in sequence.
  • The watermark is removed.
  • Unwanted parts are trimmed.
  • Duplicate clips are added if needed.

Your basic video edit is now ready.
