How to Add Transitions Between Videos (Step-by-Step Guide)

Step 1: Open Your Project

  1. Open the CapCut app.
  2. Create a new project or open an existing one.
  3. Import multiple videos into the timeline.

Step 2: Remove the Watermark

  1. Scroll to the end of the timeline.
  2. Tap on the watermark clip.
  3. Select Delete.

Your project is now clean and ready for editing.

Step 3: Review Your Clips

  1. Play the video from the beginning.
  2. Watch carefully to decide where you want transitions between clips.

Transitions appear between two video clips.

Step 4: Locate the Transition Box

  1. Between two clips, you will see a small white box icon.
  2. Tap on that white box.

The transition panel will open.

Step 5: Choose a Transition

  1. Browse through the available transition categories.
  2. You can explore sections like:
  3. None
  4. Classic
  5. New
  6. Hit
  7. Overlay
  8. Tap on any transition to preview it.

For example, choose a Black Fade transition to smoothly fade from one clip to another.

Step 6: Adjust Transition Duration

  1. After selecting a transition, look for the duration slider.
  2. Drag the slider:
  3. Left → Faster transition
  4. Right → Slower transition
  5. Adjust it according to your preference.
  6. Tap the check mark to confirm.

Step 7: Preview the Transition

  1. Play the video again.
  2. Check how the transition appears between the two clips.
  3. If it does not appear, reselect the transition and confirm it properly.

Step 8: Remove or Change a Transition

  1. Tap on the transition (white box).
  2. Select None to remove it.
  3. Or choose another transition style to replace it.

Final Result

After completing these steps:

  • The watermark is removed.
  • Transitions are added between clips.
  • Transition speed is adjusted properly.
  • The video flows smoothly from one clip to another.

Your video now has clean and professional transitions applied.
