Hello everyone, welcome to Class 9.

In today's class, we will learn how to use the CapCut Masking Tool.

Step 1: Import Videos

  1. Import the videos you want to work with.
  2. For example, we have a football video where a person falls from above to below.
  3. Remove any watermark by tapping on it and deleting it.

Step 2: Overlay the Video

  1. Select the second video that you want to appear in the center.
  2. Tap Overlay to convert it into a video layer.
  3. Hold and drag the layer to the left side of the timeline.
  4. The previous video is now behind this layer.

Step 3: Apply the Masking Tool

  1. Tap on the video layer → scroll to the end → select Mask.
  2. You’ll see many masking templates. For example, the Mirror template.
  3. Use the lock bar to adjust the mask:
  4. Move it up or down
  5. Rotate manually if needed

Step 4: Adjust the Mask

  • To focus on a specific part of the video:
  • Use the circle tool to select the area you want visible.
  • There are two rows of tools:
  • Arrow row: crop vertically
  • Extend row: extend horizontally
  • Use the Transform tool to smooth out the motion.

Step 5: Use the Tag Template (Optional)

  1. For automatic masking, use the Tag template.
  2. Options available:
  3. X-axis → move video horizontally
  4. Y-axis → move video vertically
  5. Size X/Y → extend vertically or horizontally
  6. Rotation → increase = clockwise, decrease = counterclockwise
  • Adjust the feather of the layer to smooth edges.
  • Round the corners if needed for a cleaner look.

Step 6: Review the Result

  • Play the video to see the masking effect in action.
  • Two videos can play together seamlessly, with the overlay video showing transparency as needed.
