Class 12: CapCut Color Grading & Filters
Welcome! In today’s class, we’ll learn how to color grade videos in CapCut, apply filters, and manually adjust color settings.
Step 1: Import Your Video
- Import the video you want to work on.
- Remove any watermark: tap on it, go to the end, and delete it.
- Play your video to check the content. Example: A boy placing an apple on a table.
Step 2: Apply Filters
You have two main options:
Option A: Color Grading Layer
- Go to the Tools Panel → Track Layer → Add Filter.
- Choose any filter you like. Tap it to apply.
Option B: Direct Filter
- Tap Filter directly on your video.
- Scroll through available filters. Tap to download and apply.
- Adjust intensity: use the slider to make the effect lighter or stronger.
Step 3: Manual Adjustments
If you want to tweak the colors manually:
- Tap Adjust in the Tools Panel.
- You can modify:
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Saturation
- Sharpness
- Highlights & Shadows
- Temperature (to warm or cool your video)
- Vignette (to darken corners)
- Use the graph feature to fine-tune specific color ranges (red, green, etc.).
- Play your video frequently to see the changes in real-time.
Step 4: Layer Management
- To delete a layer: tap → delete.
- To split a video: hold the layer and drag, or use the Tools Panel → Split.
- To reset adjustments: tap Adjust → Reset.
Step 5: Combining Filters and Manual Grading
- You can apply a filter and then adjust it manually for a more personalized look.
- Example:
- Apply Black Gold filter.
- Go to Adjust → increase contrast, brightness, or modify saturation.
Step 6: Export & Preview
- Always preview your video after applying changes.
- When satisfied, save and export your video.
Tip: Use layers to experiment without permanently altering the video. Combine filters and manual adjustments for professional-looking results.
