Blender Fire Explosion Setup
1. Start a New Project
- Open Blender and create a new project.
- Delete all unnecessary nodes/objects so the scene is clean.
2. Import and Prepare the Character
- Import your character model.
- Select the character → press R to rotate → set rotation to 90°.
- Press G to move → adjust position using the gizmo.
- Place the character inside the simulation domain area.
- In the domain transform settings:
- Set X = 300
- Set Y = 100
- Set Z = 100
- Move the character slightly backward to match the animation timing.
3. Add the Explosion Emitters
Emitter 1 – Main Explosion
- Add Volume → Explosion.
- Add another Volume → Burst Emitter (optional helper emitter).
- Add a Cylinder and use it as the emitter shape:
- In Shape, select Cylinder.
- Enable Visual → Show Emitter.
- Adjust cylinder height to match your explosion scale.
4. Position and Configure the Emitter
- Move the emitter cylinder to the correct location under the character’s impact point.
- Reduce its size so the explosion scale stays consistent.
- Increase X-Axis Distribution to control directional burst.
- Set other distribution axes to 0.
- Set Axis Up to control upward force.
5. Configure the Burst Settings
- Open Burst Settings:
- Set Size smaller if needed.
- Set Burst Count to 12 (example from your text).
- Go to Explosion Settings:
- Set Replace to No Image.
- Change mode to 2 (the quick-expanding burst look).
- Reduce Additional Pressure to 10.
6. Configure the Secondary Burst (Optional)
- Open Burst Settings for the second burst emitter:
- Set Additional Pressure to 5.
- No other major changes needed.
7. Disable Smoke
- Select both emitters.
- Under Activity, disable:
- Smoke
- Image emission
- Keep Fire enabled only.
8. Increase Explosion Impact
- Go to Velocity Transfer and increase the value to 50.
- Open Forces:
- Enable Noise Force.
- Reset values to default (or slightly adjust if required).
9. Enable and Control the Burst Timing
- Go to Burst Activity.
- Enable Activity so the explosion triggers only when the character hits the ground.
- Adjust the activation frame to match the moment of impact in your character animation.
10. Final Fix – Remove Continuous Flames
- Select the Primitive Burst settings again.
- Disable its Web Activity (the part causing constant fire).
- The explosion now triggers only once, with no continuous flame loop.
