What This Video Covers

  • Creating a tornado smoke simulation in Blender (or your simulation software)
  • Step-by-step emitter, domain, and force setup
  • Adding procedural noise and controlling smoke behavior

Project Setup

  • Start a new project and delete all extra nodes
  • Add an Emitter
  • Enable Show Emitter

Emitter Settings

  • Shape A: add Primitive → Cylinder
  • Shape B: add Noise → 8 for randomized rotation
  • Set Emission: no fire, smoke only at 70% intensity
  • Play a simulation to check results.

Domain Setup

  • Add Domain: size 200 × 200 × 350

Force Settings

  • Add Force Line
  • Push Strength: low (~2)
  • Add a slight twist (twisters for tornado effect ~4.5)

Rotation / Cycle

  • In Shape Primitive → Rotation → add Cycle
  • Cycle rotates along a specific axis (vertical only)
  • Turn off Emitter’s Stormer

Refining the Tornado

  • Adjust Force Tightness: 1 → prevents excessive expansion
  • Increase Push Strength if needed (but too much reduces quality)
  • Add a Noise Pattern in Forces for more realistic internal motion.
  • Adjust noise strength (~4) for professional effect.

Final Result

  • Tornado simulation ready with controlled smoke
  • Smooth rotation and proper containment inside the domain
