Browse, preview, and import the whole CGHEVEN VFX collection without leaving After Effects. Every element arrives with its alpha channel intact and its blend mode already set, so you drop it on the timeline and keep cutting instead of fighting with keyers.

Fire, smoke, explosions, magic, energy, sparks, and portals, all with a real alpha channel. Nothing needs keying, so there is no spill cleanup and no rotoscoping.
Blend modes set on import
The add-on reads each element and applies the right blend mode for you, whether that is Add for fire and sparks or Screen for smoke. The layer looks correct the moment it lands.

Green screen versions included
Prefer to key it yourself? Every effect also ships as a green screen clip, so you can run it through Keylight or your favorite keyer and dial in your own color.

Grab MOV ProRes 4444 for fast, clean compositing, EXR sequences when you want full lossless control on Pro, or MP4 for quick previews and rough cuts. Resolutions run 1K, 2K, and 4K.

How it works
From install to first effect in minutes
Add the extension, open the library, and start dropping pre-keyed VFX onto your timeline.

Install the extension
Find CGHEVEN on Adobe Exchange and click Install. It loads into After Effects on its own, so there is nothing to copy or unzip by hand.

Open the CGHEVEN library
In After Effects go to Window, then Extensions, then CGHEVEN. The library opens right away, and you can browse the free tier without logging in.

Filter and download
Narrow by category, resolution, and format, then click any asset to save it to your local library folder.

Drag it into your composition
Drop the asset onto your timeline and the right blend mode applies itself. Trim the timing to taste and you are done.
FAQ
After Effects add-on questions, answered
Do I need to sign up to use the After Effects add-on?
No. Install the extension and start right away. The free tier with 1K and 2K assets needs zero signup. You only log in for Pro features like 4K and new weekly content.
Is the add-on free forever?
Yes. The add-on itself is free, and the free tier stays free. 4K resolution, EXR sequences, and new content need a Pro plan at five dollars a month, which you can cancel any time.
Which After Effects versions are supported?
After Effects CC 2024 and 2025. Support for the 2023 release is planned for later.
Are the assets already keyed?
Yes. All 300+ VFX ship with the alpha channel pre-applied, so there is no keying to do. The add-on also detects and sets the blend mode when the layer lands in your composition.
Are there green screen versions too?
Yes. Every effect comes with a green screen version as well, so if you would rather key your own color you can run it through any keyer in After Effects.
Can I use the assets in commercial projects?
Yes. Every CGHEVEN asset is CC0, so you can use it in client work, ads, and films. Credit is appreciated but not required.
Do I need separate plans for the other add-ons?
No. One Pro plan unlocks the After Effects, Blender, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro add-ons under a single account.
How does cross-add-on sync work?
When you download an asset in Blender, the After Effects add-on reads the same local folder, so the asset appears here with no re-download. Once it is on disk it works offline, and the same file is ready in DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro too.
What is the difference between ProRes, EXR, and MP4?
ProRes 4444 is the fast, clean choice for most compositing and keeps a full alpha channel. EXR sequences are lossless and give you the most control for broadcast and finishing work, and they come with Pro. MP4 is small and handy for previews and rough cuts.
